While reviewing the progress of works of the 4-laning of ‘Package-A’ (NH-415) from Itanagar to Papu-Nallah, Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein expressed serious concern over the unauthorised building construction and earth-cutting on the hill sides of the under-construction 4-lane highway.

After learning that the payment of compensation for the unsafe structures located in the vulnerable places was already made, he instructed deputy commissioner, Capital Complex to issue a final notice to the owners of those structures/buildings and also to warn them for immediate vacation of the building. Mein said that the government will not be held responsible if any untoward incidents happen to the persons staying in such unsafe structures/buildings.

Mein also instructed the DC Capital Complex to issue notice against the unauthorised building construction and earth-cutting and dumping on road by some private parties citing that it not only act as a hindrance to the 4-lane construction activities but is also dangerous as the hills and mud becomes loose and vulnerable to landslide.
