Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein on Monday laid the foundation stone of ordination hall (uposatha ghara) at Kongmu Kham (Golden Pagoda) monastery in Namsai.

The ordination hall is a Buddhist building of great importance for the Theravada Buddhist devotes, specifically consecrated and designated for the performance of the Buddhist ordination ritual (upasampada) and other ritual ceremonies.

MLA Chongkham Chow Tewa Mein, MLA Namsai Chow Zingnu Namchoom, Abbot of Kongmu Kham monastery Venerable Vimalatissa, devotees and well-wishers from Thailand were also present on the occasion.

The second most powerful monk of Thailand, Venerable Phra Sudhamadhipati, the Abbot assistant of Wat Bovornives Vihara, presided over the ceremony.

The foundation stone of the ordination hall was laid as per the Theravada Buddhist rituals and traditions.
