Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on April 18 urged his Assam counterpart Sarbananda Sonowal to take steps to ensure hassle-free movement of seafood meant for export from Andhra in the northeastern state.

Reddy spoke to Sarbananda Sonowal over phone, following which the latter assured him of all necessary measures.

Reddy reminded Sonowal that export of seafood from Andhra Pradesh is extensive and requested him to ensure that trucks with such products are not stopped at the inter-state borders. He also sought access for these trucks to the fish markets in Assam.

Sale of fish and meat are strictly controlled and monitored as the nationwide lockdown to contain COVID-19 continues.
