One more COVID-19 case was detected from Goalpara in Assam, taking the total number of cases in the state to 31.

Assam Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma late night on April 13 informed that a person from Goalpara was found COVID-19 positive. The patient is a secondary contact of people associated with the Nizamuddin Markaz conglomeration in Delhi in March.

“A person from Goalpara, and secondary contact of people associated with #NizamuddinMarkaz, has been confirmed as #COVID19 positive. The total number of #Covid patients in #Assam now stands at 31. Update at 11.55 pm / April 13,” the minister tweeted.

Assam has reported one death due to COVID-19 from Hailakandi district while several patients are expected to be released from the designated COVID-19 hospitals soon.
