Three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Manipur on May 24 thus increasing the total number of patients in the state to 32. The number of active cases in Manipur now stands at 28 as four patients were earlier declared negative.

Manipur Additional Director and Spokesperson Health department, Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, said a 32-year-old man from Jiribam district and a 25-year-old woman from Thoubal were tested positive at RIMS.

A new active case (18-year-old man) was also confirmed late night on May 23 at VRDL, JNIMS. He is from Churachandpur district and a returnee from Chennai.

All the 28 active cases are being monitored regularly.

According to L Tomcha Khuman, State Surveillance Officer, about 1820 persons were at government quarantine while 7582 persons were also community quarantine. About 3074 people have left government quarantine and 65 persons left community quarantine after completion of their mandatory 14 day stay.
