With five new cases recorded on June 14, Nagaland’s COVID-19 tally reached 168 with 80 active cases and 88 recoveries, state Principal Secretary for Home Abhijit Sinha informed.

In his daily briefing on COVID-19 situation in the state, Sinha said all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and all the 80 active cases are asymptomatic.

He said till date, a total of 5945 samples have been tested.

Results of 4848 samples have been received and the results of 1097 samples are awaited.

Of the 5945 samples tested in the state, a total of 3005 samples have been tested at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), out of which 124 samples have tested positive.

A total of 6774 persons are presently under facility quarantine.

Sinha also informed that a special train from Delhi with about 600 persons from Nagaland left the national capital on June 14 and is expected to reach Dimapur on the June 16 next.

If anyone develops any signs and symptoms of cough, fever or difficulty in breathing, he or she should contact the Nagaland COVID-19 Helpline Number 1800 345 0019 of the Health & Family Welfare Department, he said.

“Please practice frequent hand washing with soap and water or alcohol based sanitizers, follow respiratory etiquette and social distancing measures. Kindly adhere to government advisories and be regularly updated,” he said.
