A team of CID and forensic experts have been dispatched to probe alleged murder of a 53-year-old lady teacher whose body was recovered from a private school, nearly 1.5 km away from her residence at Kalaigaon in Udalguri district of Assam.

The police said the deceased, identified as Nayantara Saharia, a resident of Kalaigaon College road, went missing on July 6.

The police officials while refusing to give any statement said “investigations are on”.

On direction from Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, a team of CID officers and forensic experts have been dispatched to assist Udalguri Police, state DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta informed through a tweet.

“As directed by honorable CM @sarbanandsonwal, @AssamCid officers & forensic experts dispatched to assist @udalguripolice in C No 65/20; relating to the dead body of a lady that was found in UN Academy, Kalaigaon,” Mahanta had tweeted.

“No stone will be left unturned to bring the culprits to book,” he added.

The CID team visited the spot where the body was found and the investigation is on, police said.
