The COVID-19 tally in Assam has crossed 45,000 with highest single day spike of 2371 cases reported on August 3.

The overall COVID-19 tally now stands at 45,275.

State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that four more deaths related to COVID-19 were confirmed in the state taking the death toll to 109.

He further informed that 41958 tests were conducted on August 3.

Out of the new cases, 414 were from Kamrup Metro district.

Dibrugarh and Nagaon accounted for over 200 cases, while more than 100 cases were confirmed from Kamrup district.

As many as 1044 COVID-19 patients were discharged after recovery during the day taking the number of cured patients to 33,428.

The number of active COVID-19 positive patients in the state stood at 11,735.
