The Sixth Session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, which was scheduled on July 30 and deferred due to detection of COVID-19 among some legislative staff, now would be held on August 13.
According to official sources, the Assembly session will start from 9:30 am and the agenda are same as the one-day assembly session slated for July 30 was postponed after some of the legislators, security personnel, drivers and staff attached to the legislators besides Nagaland legislative assembly staff tested positive for COVID-19.
According to sources in the Nagaland assembly informed that as per the agenda of the July 30, all the proceeding will remain for the new schedule without any change, however, all arrangements have been put in place in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) and protocols.
Earlier, Nagaland Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer had said that production of COVID-19 test result for everyone entering the assembly session is a part of the plans to organise the assembly session by strictly adhering to the SOPs and the other necessary precautionary measures.
COVID-19 update:
Nagaland on August 11 registered 20 new positive cases of COVID-19 throughout the state, hence the total number of COVID-19 positive cases rose up to 3,031 so far.
Nagaland health and family welfare minister S Pangnyu Phom said it on Twitter. On August 11, altogether 192 suspected COVID-19 samples were tested out of which 20 new positive cases have been confirmed.
He said, the new cases include 10 in Kohima, 9 in Dimapur and one in Tuensang, with these the total number of COVID-19 infected persons stood at 3,031 so far.
