Dhubri Police along with Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam on September 23 arrested two police officials from Dhubri after they were caught red-handed while taking bribes.

“In a joint operation against corrupt practices by a few blacksheeps within police, @Dhubri_Police along with @DIR_VAC_ASSAM caught OC Gauripur PS and Town ASI red-handed. Arrested, investigation on,” tweeted Dhubri Police.

They have been identified as officer-in-charge of Gauripur Police station Satyajit Borthakur and ASI Abul Kalam Azad.

“We are at war against corruption and all illegal activities. We had already made it clear about it. But we were getting reports that OC Gauripur was involved in some corrupt practices. So, we along with Vigilance and Anti-Corruption carried out the operation and they were caught red-handed,” Dhubri SP Anand Mishra told reporters.
