Notification for the second phase of Assam assembly election 2021 was issued on march 5 for 39 legislative assembly constituencies. Voting in these 39 seats will be held on April 1.

The Election Commission on March 5 notified that the last date for submission of nomination papers by candidates is March 12 and scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done on March 15 in these seats.

The last date of withdrawal of candidature is March 17.

Assam Polls: Postal ballot facility

Postal ballot facility is available for the differently-abled, senior citizen above 80 year of age and COVID-19 suspected and affected citizens. Assam chief electoral officer mentioned that the facility is optional and anyone who wish to avail the same should apply within five days from issuance of election notification.

The voters who want to avail postal ballot facility for second phase of election will have to apply for postal ballot in Form 12 (D) within March 9. The concern BLO will go to each such voter’s house to distribute and collect Form 12 (D) from them within March 9, a statement from the CEO’s office said.
