Nagaland health and family welfare department has confirmed 93 samples of Delta variant of COVID-19, along with two Kappa variants and one Alpha variant case in the state.
According to a Nagaland health department release on July 3, the results of two more samples were unclear, as per the Whole Genome Sequencing report from the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBG) at Kalyani in West Bengal. The sample results were received by the health department on July 1 evening.
The Nagaland health department viewed that the high rise of COVID-19 in the state could be due to the presence of the Delta variant due to its higher transmissibility rate than the other variants.
