Police had apprehended five Myanmar nationals in Assam’s Cachar district along Assam-Mizoram border on October 23 who allegedly entered into India without valid documents.

They were apprehended by police at Lailapur area in Cachar district of Assam.

A top police officer said that the apprehended Myanmar nationals are residents of Myanmar’s Chin state and they had entered into India without valid documents.

The official further said that police also detained a 19-year-old girl hailing from Mizoram’s Champhai district who was guiding the foreign nationals as they were headed to Delhi.

The apprehended Myanmar nationals were identified as Thang Khawm Pau, Khen Khan Kham, Pau Hawmliam Mung, Chin Ai hang and Pau Biak Muang.
