A suspected ATM robber was injured in police firing in Assam’s Goalpara district.

The injured person was identified as Mussadik Hussain of Krishnai in Goalpara district. He has been alleged of being involved in an ATM heist.

A top police officer said that police traced the person based on CCTV footage from the ATM corner and traced him to his rented house in the Nayapara area.

“When a police team reached the area, Mussadik Hussain had tried to flee from the area and police asked him to stop, but he tried to attack the police personnel. Later, police had to resort to controlled firing and the person was injured,” the police officer said.

The injured person was rushed to a hospital in Goalpara.
