Arunachal DyCM launches ‘Parshuram Kund Amantran Yatra’

Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein has launched ‘Parshuram Kund Amantran Yatra’ during an event at Indore in Madhya Pradesh.

“It (yatra) will start from November 8, 2022 and end on January 8, 2023. Through the yatra, spiritual importance of Parshuram Kund will be highlighted across the country to make it a major tourist destination,” the deputy chief minister said in a social media post.

The ‘Parshuram Kund Amantran Yatra’ was launched on October 15.

DyCM Chowna Mein informed that a 51-feet statue of Parshuram is being built at the historic pilgrimage centre, Parshuram Kund, in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh.

VIPRA Foundation, a global organisation, is donating the statue, which is being erected by sculptor Naresh Kumawat.

“The 51-feet statue of Bhagwan Parshuram at Lohit river, once completed, will not only attract tourists to Parshuram Kund but will also create employment opportunities and provide avenues for economic activities to the locals,” Mein tweeted.

“Gratitude to VIPRA foundation for hosting (such) a wonderful event,” Mein said.

The deputy chief minister was attending the ‘Abhinandan Arunachal’ function, organised by VIPRA Foundation, along with tourism minister Nakap Nalo, advisor (tourism) Laisam Simai and Tezu MLA Karikho Kri.

“The programme aimed to highlight the tourism potentials of our beautiful state in central India. Though Arunachal Pradesh is very rich in tourism potential it is still unknown to mainland India,” he said.
