Barsapara stadium in Guwahati

The Assam Cricket Association Stadium at Barsapara in Guwahati will host an international one-day match between India and Sri Lanka on January 10, BCCI announced on December 8.

In the New Year, Sri Lanka will first play three T20 internationals before battling at the 50-over format with India. On January 3, the first T20I will be played at Mumbai before the action moves on to Pune on January 5 and then Rajkot for the final T20I on January 7.

Then the teams will head on to Guwahati for the first ODI on January 10 and then to Kolkata on January 12 and then to Thiruvananthapuram for the final ODI on January 15.

Barsapara cricket stadium in Guwahati last hosted an international match on October 2 when a T20I was played between India and South Africa.

The match was marred with controversy as first a snake intruded the field of play while South Africa were fielding. And later, when they were batting, one of the floodlight towers went off!

Earlier in January 2020, India was scheduled to play at Barsapara stadium against Sri Lanka in a T20I match which was abandoned due to rain and poor playing conditions.
