The Trinamool Congress leaders, including Tripura unit president Pijush Kanti Biswas, Rajya Sabha member Sushmita Dev, and Tripura in-charge Rajib Banerjee, released the party’s election manifesto on February 5.

The TMC leaders discussed the various welfare programmes that have been implemented in West Bengal and said that the party plans to implement the same in Tripura if it wins the election.

Trinamool Congress announced that it will implement a “zero tolerance policy against corruption” in the state and create a vigilance committee to increase government transparency.

According to the TMC manifesto, a police commissionerate with control over 77 police stations and responsibility for state-wide law enforcement will be established in Agartala.

The Trinamool Congress leaders pledged to create 50,000 government employment in the first year and 2 lakh over the following five years.

In order to improve young people’s employability and vocational skills, the Trinamool Congress platform included a pledge to establish a skill university in the state.

To address the deficit of teachers in schools around the state, the party promised to quadruple the number of seats in teacher preparation programmes, to 800.

If elected, the Trinamool Congress would host “Biannual Duare Sarkar” at the gramme panchayat and municipal ward levels to provide doorstep delivery of services and welfare programmes, just like it does in West Bengal.

The party added that all main arterial roads will be rebuilt to all-weather roads and 9,906 km of unsurfaced roads would be blacktopped in order to increase connectivity.
