Meghalaya assembly budget session from March 20

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present the full budget for the financial year 2023-24 on March 23, an assembly official said on March 14.

The upcoming budget session of the Meghalaya assembly, the first of the newly-inducted MDA 2.0 government, will be held from March 20-28. The business advisory committee has finalised the calendar with seven government businesses and two private members’ businesses.

The opening day of the budget session will begin with the customary address by the governor, introduction of government bills, and election of the deputy speaker.

The general discussion on the budget will be held on March 27. On the same day, the chief minister will give his reply to the points raised by members.
