Although, it was an occasion of serious discussion for opposition to find ways to contest together against BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav triggered peals of laughter among all leaders and media persons, when he advised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to get married soon.

It so happened that Lalu along with top leaders of opposition parties, was briefing media about outcome of their meeting convened in Patna to finalise strategy to contest together against BJP in next Lok Sabha elections, he suddenly changed his posture towards Rahul Gandhi and advised him to get married soon.

Lalu also cracked jokes on him for his growing beards again.

Responding to an indication given by chief minister Nitish Kumar, the RJD leader pointed out that Rahul Gandhi had long beards during his “Bharat Jodo Yatra” but he got it trimmed after culmination of “Yatra”.

It was really funny that beards of Rahul had started growing again, he remarked in lighter vein and advised him not to grow his beards further.

He also took pot-shot at prime minister Narendra Modi wondering why he never got clean shaved.

Modi always kept short beards rather opting for being clean shaved, he quipped.

Lalu did not stop only after making remark about beards of Rahul but also went on advising him to get married soon. He also smilingly recalled how he had advised Rahul earlier to get married but the latter did not accept.

“This time certainly you will have to marry as we all are prepared to go for your marriage as Barat (wedding party),” Lalu asked him with wry on his smiling face.

“Your mother used to say that you are not accepting her advice for marriage and had asked me to get you prepared for marriage,” RJD leader told Rahul with smile.

Rahul Gandhi just kept smiling on the suggestions.

On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi had earlier said that his party was prepared to adopt flexible approach for opposition unity to take on BJP. Saffron party was hitting hard on very foundation of the country, he remarked.
