The Sikkim government will soon form grievance cells in all blocks to learn about and resolve the problems faced by people, chief minister PS Tamang announced on June 11.

Chief minister Tamang, now on a tour of the state’s rural areas, made the announcement at Mangalbaria, West Sikkim district.

As part of the tour, Tamang is meeting the public and taking stock of their problems.

“Very soon, a government grievance cell will be established in all the block administrative centres. The officials appointed will be forwarding applications with problems to government. In this way public issues would be looked into and solved,” announced Tamang.

While interacting with people queued up to meet him, he handed over land ownership documents to 7 persons.

This has been done under the Sikkim Sukumbasi (landless residents) scheme, where 0.25 acres of land has been provided to those below poverty level for construction of houses.
