Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati has upgraded passenger and airline experience, emphasizing the commitment to establish itself as a leading aviation hub in Northeast India.

“Significant changes have been made to the Baggage Handling System (BHS), including the addition of conveyor belts and the creating wall cutouts to facilitate seamless connectivity to check-in counters. New check-in counters have been installed to improve operational efficiency and customer service. These new and updated counters are thoughtfully laid out to ensure that passengers to have a pleasant experience during the check-in process,” said a statement from the Adani Group-run airport.

Also, civil work has been completed in Baggage Makeup Area (BMA) and Baggage Breakup Area (BBA) including floor maintenance and shed construction, improving the effectiveness of baggage handling. These upgrades allow for a more improved transfer of baggage, which in turn guarantees that passengers’ bags will arrive on time, the statement added.

Additionally, extensive renovations in the washrooms of both Baggage Makeup Area (BMA) and Security Hold Area (SHA) at the airport were completed.

“Passengers can rest assured that using the updated restrooms ensures sanitary hygiene, improved hygiene protocols, and increased accessibility. LGBIA continues to prioritize top-notch travel experience for its passengers and the seamless collaboration with its airline partners,” it said.
