IIT Guwahati’s annual techno-management festival ‘Techniche’ announced the next edition of Technothlon – the prestigious international school championship.

This year the excitement knows no bounds as it is the silver jubilee edition of Techniche. The prelims of Technothlon are scheduled for July 16, and the competition goes virtual, allowing students to participate from the comfort of their own homes, using their respective devices.

“Technothlon stands tall as an international school championship, an awe-inspiring initiative spearheaded by the brilliant minds of IIT Guwahati. Since its inception in 2004, Technothlon has traversed an awe-inspiring path spanning over 19 years, captivating the hearts and minds of students in over 400 cities worldwide,” stated a press release.

Students from classes 9 to 12 will lock horns in a battle of wits, aiming to claim the grand prize of Technothlon. Divided into two distinct squads, the competition intensifies as participants demonstrate their mettle individually. The juniors’ squad, comprising talented 9th and 10th standard students, and the hauts squad, consisting of exceptional 11th and 12th standard students, will take on separate sets of thought-provoking questions meticulously crafted by the students of IIT Guwahati.

Technothlon unveils its enchanting journey in two phases: prelims and mains. The preliminary round challenges participants to unleash their raw potential, as no initial preparation is required. This round demands sheer spontaneity and out-of-the-box thinking, putting the candidates’ abilities to the ultimate test.

The top 50 participants from each squad earn the honor of advancing to the next round: the mains, hosted during Techniche at IIT Guwahati.

For those fortunate enough to secure a spot in the mains, an exhilarating adventure awaits on the picturesque IIT Guwahati campus during Techniche from August 31 – September 3. Here, competitors will face even more exhilarating rounds, pushing their limits to claim the coveted championship.

The past winners of Technothlon were rewarded with an extraordinary opportunity – a guided tour of NASA for the champions and a guided tour of ISRO for the runners-up. Such incredible experiences serve as a testament to the immense value and prestige that Technothlon holds.
