ANI Photo | “…Make Amit Shah the Prime Minister”: Chhattisgarh Dy CM Deo on Manipur issue

Launching a fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the situation in Manipur, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo on Wednesday said if the PM do not want to take the responsibility (of Manipur incident), then he should make Home Minister Amit Shah the PM and let Shah respond to the nation.

Describing the Manipur incident as highly sensitive, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that instead of the Home Minister, the opposition, including Congress, want a response from the Prime Minister on this issue as happened in the past.
After Home Minister Amit Shah wrote to the Opposition for cooperation in the discussion of the Manipur issue, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo said, “Several people are losing their lives. Women are being subjected to cruel and inhuman treatment…If action is initiated 77 days after the FIR has been done, then who is answerable? PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah both must be knowing about it…If PM Modi does not want to take responsibility then make Amit Shah the Prime Minister. Then Amit Shah can answer.”
“If the Prime Minister does not want to take the responsibility (of the Manipur incident), then he should make Amit Shah the PM and he will answer to the nation. The nation wants answers from the Prime Minister and everyone wants to know the actual situation of Manipur,” stated Singh Deo.

Responding to a question that Amit Shah has written a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other leaders seeking cooperation for discussion in Parliament over Manipur incident, Singh Deo said, “He has never seen Congress not cooperating on this issue. Manipur is one of the highly sensitive geography where the situation of unprecedented tension prevails and many people lost their lives. Many women (in Manipur) have been treated in a very cruel and inhuman manner.”
“It is impossible that the President, Prime Minister and Home Minister may not have information about the situation of Manipur, said the Deputy CM and asked who will be responsible for delay in action on the heinous incident that took place in Manipur.”
Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh should step down from his post and if he is unwilling then (their) central leadership should not hesitate to remove him and he should have been removed much earlier, said Singh.
“If he (Biren Singh) is not able to bring the situation under control, then there is no justification for him to continue as the Chief Minister”, stated the Deputy CM.(ANI)
