Sikkim chief minister PS Tamang addressed a mammoth public gathering to observe 6th Jan Unmukti Diwas, to commemorate his release from Chongay after serving a year-long sentence.

“Inclusive politics has been the hallmark of my party (SKM) and will continue the ideology. The citizens should work as team Sikkim, for the welfare & development,” CM PS Tamang said at the programme hosted by SKM.

The chief minister ‘cautioned’ the public against the Sikkim Democratic Front trying to pose a comeback to power. He enumerated what was termed “a pack of lies” to the public, assuring certain facilities, including housing for those below the poverty line, before polls.

The party leader, who ruled for 25 years, has been claiming he will not be vying for chief ministership, Tamang said, in an apparent attack on former chief minister and SDF chief Pawan Chamling.

“But, if it’s so, let him declare their chief ministerial candidate. Our government has referred corruption case, of previous chief minister’s relative to enforcement directorate. He has caused loss to state government by not paying the dues amounting to Rs 44 crore,” Tamang alleged.
