DigiYatra initiative was launched at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati on August 20. This remarkable event signifies a significant leap in the digitization of India’s aviation sector and promises a seamless and efficient travel experience for passengers.

Assam minister Chandramohan Patowary who was present during the formal inauguration of the service said: “Glad to be a part of the launch of DigiYatra at the LGBI Airport. The facility will enable seamless entry of passengers into the airport, save time and make the process hassle-free.”

“My compliments to the ministry of civil aviation for the initiative which will benefit the people of Assam and the Northeast and also the tourists and visitors.”

DigiYatra promises several innovative features, including biometric-based processing, paperless boarding, and real-time updates on flight status. It will allow passengers to complete various pre-flight processes, such as check-in and security checks, using their smartphones and biometric authentication, thereby reducing waiting times and minimizing physical contact.

The system, which integrates seamlessly with the airports and airlines, ensures data security and privacy, adhering to international standards and regulations. It is anticipated that the introduction of DigiYatra at LGBI Airport will set a precedent for other airports across the nation to adopt similar digital solutions, contributing to a more efficient and passenger-friendly aviation ecosystem.
