Guwahati (Assam) [India], September 21 (ANI): A total of 1,31,649 people who illegally entered Assam have been identified as foreigners by the Foreigners Tribunals of State since 2001. Out of these, 3,100 persons who were declared and convicted as foreigners by the Foreigners Tribunals of the state were deported, said Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Sarma also holds the Home portfolio and was replying to a set of questions from Raijor Dal MLA Akhil Gogoi. 
Recently, the Assam government said in the state assembly that, the Foreigners Tribunals of the state have declared 94,338 persons as foreigners during the period of 2016 to 2023.
According to the state government data, 5,096 persons were declared as foreigners by the Foreigners Tribunals in 2016, 15,541 persons in 2017, 26,823 persons in 2018, 24,209 persons in 2019, 4,355 persons in 2020, 6,392 persons in 2021, 8,400 persons in 2022 and 3,522 persons in 2023.
On the other hand, from 2001 to 2023, 8,906 persons’ names were deleted from the voter list.
The state government also said in the state assembly, in connection with ‘D’ voter (Doubtful voter) cases, notices were served to 71,198 persons during the period of 2016 to 2023 (July) and of these 37,304 persons were declared as foreigners
