MeitY organises Digital India talk show, interactive session in Delhi University

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) conducted a Digital India talk show cum interactive session at Delhi University on Monday.
This event, the second in a series of workshops planned over the next six months, was organized as part of the Digital India Awareness campaign by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), read the Ministry of Electronics and IT press release.
The program witnessed the active participation of over 500 individuals, including students from various colleges, faculty members, and university staff.
The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting and featured keynote addresses by officials from NeGD and Delhi University, read the press release.
JL Gupta, Director of NeGD, MeitY, began by elucidating the objectives of the Digital India Programme and how its key initiatives are driving digital transformation across the nation.
He emphasized how these initiatives are ensuring the broad accessibility of government programs and services, even in remote areas, read the press release.
Professor Sanjeev Singh, Director of Delhi University Computer Centre, stressed the significance of collaboration between the government and universities to promote a better understanding of and access to these digital initiatives.
He also shared insights into various collaborations between the university and MeitY, particularly regarding initiatives like DigiLocker, the National Academic Depository (NAD), and the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).
Professor Sanjoy Roy, Director of the Institute of Lifelong Learning (ILLL) and Head of the Department of Social Work at the University of Delhi highlighted the benefits of digitalization in the lives of students and underscored the importance of ethics in the digital realm, read the press release.
The event featured engaging sessions conducted by experts on five key Digital India initiatives, namely UMANG, DigiLocker, National Academic Depository – Academic Bank of Credits (NAD-ABC), Cybersecurity, myScheme, and UX4G, read the press release.
The UX4G is an initiative that enables and facilitates the development of Design Guidelines and Design Systems to improve user experience on government websites and mobile applications.
It provides government departments with ready-to-use website components, tools, and solutions for better User experience and User Interface.
These experts elucidated how these initiatives can significantly benefit students, faculty, and citizens at large.
Following each session, a question and answer round allowed participants to seek clarification directly from the experts.
“One of the highlights of the workshop was an interactive Digital India Quiz, where participants, including students and DU Professors, eagerly answered multiple-choice questions related to the five projects,” read the release.
The winners received Digital India merchandise and certificates as tokens of appreciation.
The event served as an enlightening and informative platform, fostering greater awareness and understanding of the Digital India initiatives among the academic community and citizens alike
