All-rounder Riyan Parag shone as he helped Assam secure an impressive 8-wicket victory against Services in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match played at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC in Mumbai on October 19.

Riyan picked up 3 wickets for 9 runs and hit an explosive 76 runs off 37 balls with 5 massive sixes and 8 boundaries.

Having won the toss, Assam chose to field first, a decision that paid off as they bowled out Services for a total of 124 runs in 19.4 overs. Rajat Paliwal was the top scorer for Services with 39 runs off 25 balls, while Nakul Sharma contributed 22 runs off 17 balls, and SG Rohilla managed 17 runs off 12 balls.

Assam’s bowlers, led by Saurav Dey with figures of 4/20, along with Riyan Parag (3/9) and Sibsankar Roy (1/11), were instrumental in restricting Services.

In their chase, Assam displayed remarkable efficiency, reaching the target with ease. They scored 128/2 in just 12.4 overs. Riyan Parag, with an unbeaten 76 runs off 37 balls, played a pivotal role in guiding Assam to victory, well-supported by Rishav Das, who remained unbeaten at 41 runs off 31 balls. SC Ghadigaonkar chipped in with a quick 6 runs off 2 balls. Pulkit Narang claimed 2 wickets for Services.

In the last match against Bihar, Riyan Parag was also the standout performer for Assam, scoring 61 runs in 34 balls and picking up 2 wickets on October 17.
