United Opposition Forum Assam meet in Dibrugarh

A total of 15 opposition political parties in Assam on November 30 adopted a state-specific common manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls at a political convention in Dibrugarh.

The United Opposition Forum Assam (UOFA), formed on the lines of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), also adopted a “chargesheet against the BJP” during the convention.

After the convention, forum general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi informed the media that the decision to announce Bhupen Bora as forum president would be made public at a meeting in Dibrugarh on December 1.

He said the forum passed a resolution for the opposition to fight unitedly in 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of Assam.

Addressing the media, leader of the opposition in the Assam assembly Debabrata Saikia said the promises made by the BJP in the vision document will be presented to the people to show how much they have fulfilled in the last eight years. He accused the BJP of failing to keep its promises.
