Bus accident in Agartala

As many as 12 people, including eight students of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Agartala, were injured after their bus plunged into a pond in eastern Agartala due to dense fog on January 17.

Tripura Police said the injured included eight students, two teachers, the driver and co-driver of the bus.

Local people and firefighters, rescued the injured victims and rushed them to Ranirbazar primary health centre and a private hospital in Agartala.

Expressing concern over the accident, chief minister Manik Saha conveyed his sympathies and wished speedy recovery of the injured students, teachers, and other staff members.

“This is a tragic incident, and my thoughts are with all those affected by the NIT bus accident in Ranirbazar Chowk Basta area. I extend my heartfelt wishes for a swift recovery to the injured students, teachers, and other employees,” Saha stated on X (formerly called Twitter).
