In a remarkable achievement, Nazneen Rahman of Guwahati has been catapulted to the 17th position globally in the Masters Mixed Doubles category for the 45+ age group, according to the latest rankings released by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on January 29.

Expressing her elation, Nazneen Rahman shared, “It’s a great feeling that I could improve my game continuously and stay consistent. I’m thankful to all my partners and family for their support.” The achievement is a testament to her dedication and perseverance in the sport.

Not only does Nazneen hold an impressive global ranking, but she also secures the 2nd position in the Asia/Oceania group. Within India, she stands as a top-ranked player, showcasing her dominance and skill in the national tennis scene.

“With every match, I discovered the power of sportsmanship and fair play. The lessons learned on the court extended beyond the lines, shaping me into a person who valued integrity and empathy. The discipline and commitment required to excel in tennis spilt over into my personal and professional life, fostering a sense of responsibility and accountability,” reflected Nazneen on her journey in tennis.

Adding another feather to her cap, Nazneen Rahman recently clinched the Mixed Doubles title at the World Ranking Delhi Masters MT 400, where she partnered with Dilip Mohanty. The championship, held on January 27, showcased her prowess on the court and her ability to perform consistently at the highest level.

Nazneen’s list of achievements is impressive, with victories in various ITF tournaments. She secured the Women’s Singles Winner title at ITF MT 200 in Guwahati, the Women’s Doubles Winner title at ITF MT 200, and another Women’s Singles Winner title at ITF MT 200 in Darjeeling. Additionally, she reached the Runners-Up position in Mixed Doubles at ITF Masters 400 in Muzzafarnagar.

Her international representation for India includes participating in the World Championships 2023 in Turkey, where she reached the quarterfinals in Mixed Doubles. Notably, Nazneen also captained the Indian Women’s Masters Team in the World Championships 2022 in Portugal in July.
