Meghalaya BJP leaders meet Amit Shah in Shillong

The Meghalaya unit of BJP led by its president Rikman G Momin along with cabinet minister AL Hek met Union home minister Amit Shah in Shillong on January 18.

Shah arrived in Shillong on January 18 and inaugurated Cyber Security Operations Centre at HQ Assam Rifles at Laitkor. He will chair the plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) on January 19.

Sources said the BJP delegation discussed specific issues concerning the affairs of the state such as the inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule, ILP, and opening of international trade routes to Bangladesh through Meghalaya.

The sources also said the home minister gave a patient hearing and agreed to look into all matters earnestly.

He has also invitedĀ a delegation of church leaders for a meeting in Delhi along with the party president and cabinet minister AL Hek to discuss matters relating to FCRA and allotment of land in NCR to KJP Synod.
