ANI Photo | Niuland district of Nagaland to soon benefit from 5MW solar plant, confirms Union minister

Union minister of state for power and heavy industries, Krishan Pal Gurjar said that under prime minister Narendra Modi, the government is giving priorities in developing the Northeast region and for which the prime minister himself has visited the region multiple times.

He said this during his visit to Niuland near Dimapur in Nagaland on January 6 and held a review meeting with the district officers, NGOs, public leaders and beneficiaries of various centrally sponsored schemes.

The minister interacted with the beneficiaries of different central sponsored schemes and expressed his satisfaction in implementing agencies in the district.

In regards to the power sector, Gurjar stated that the country has become a power surplus nation and the central government will provide to any power needs of the state. The minister also assured the gathering that the central government is ready to accept proposals of the state government in setting up any industry, provided availability of required raw materials.

He then mentioned that 5MW solar plant at Hovukhu village in Niuland district will be completed very soon and will cater to the needs of the state. The minister of state and his entourage also visited development projects at Hovishe village.
