ANI Photo | Many restrictions from Manipur govt: Sachin Pilot on Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Congress leader Sachin Pilot provided details about Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,’ emphasizing its commencement in Manipur despite partial permission and imposed restrictions by the state government. Pilot stated that the yatra, starting from Imphal on January 14, aims to address issues concerning farmers, women, and youth, representing the deprived sections of the country.

Highlighting the non-political nature of the visit, Pilot expressed regret over the Manipur government’s response but reiterated the commitment to start the yatra as planned. Due to time constraints arising from the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the yatra will be a hybrid, covering 14 states and concluding in Mumbai on March 20. The unique model includes both bus and foot travel.

Sachin Pilot spoke about the INDIA bloc, noting its significance and becoming a concern for the BJP and NDA. He highlighted the strength of the alliance and hinted at seat-sharing discussions. Pilot criticized the central government, accusing it of misusing agencies and targeting opposition leaders.

Regarding the Congress declining the invitation for the consecration programme of Ram Mandir on January 22, Pilot clarified that if the issue is politicized in the name of religion, the party opposes it. He emphasized the individual freedom of faith and criticized attempts to politicize and label individuals as ‘good Hindus.’

Pilot concluded by expressing the party’s commitment to changing history, fighting on relevant issues, and anticipating an improvement in future elections despite recent setbacks in state elections. He encouraged a forward-looking approach, assuring that the future of the Congress is promising.
