Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' to start from Imphal

Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ is set to commence from Imphal on January 14, covering an extensive distance of 6,713 kilometres across 100 Lok Sabha constituencies, 337 assembly segments, and 110 districts, as announced by Congress General Secretary in-charge of Communications, Jairam Ramesh, on January 4.

Earlier on the same day, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge chaired a meeting attended by PCC presidents, CLP leaders, AICC general secretaries, and state in-charges. Former party president Rahul Gandhi was also present at the meeting.

The agenda of the meeting included preparations for the upcoming general elections and the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,’ which Rahul is set to launch from Imphal on January 14. The yatra is scheduled to conclude in Mumbai on March 20 or 21.

Ramesh emphasized that the unanimous view from the meeting was to sustain the momentum generated by the Bharat Jodo Yatra and the positive transformation it brought to Indian politics.

“The Yatra will kick off from Imphal on January 14, covering a distance of 6,713 kilometres primarily by bus. Rahul Gandhi will personally walk on certain stretches along the Yatra route. Encompassing 15 states, it will traverse 100 Lok Sabha constituencies, 337 assembly segments, and involve 110 districts,” he stated.

Regarding the ‘Nyay’ theme of the ‘Yatra,’ Ramesh mentioned that it draws inspiration from the Constitution, specifically the Preamble, which advocates for ‘Justice,’ encompassing social, economic, and political justice for the people of the country.

“The ‘Nyay Yatra’ will spend a maximum of eleven days in Uttar Pradesh, covering 1,074 kilometres across 20 districts. The 15 states on the ‘Nyay Yatra’ route include Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra,” he added.
