After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Assam, BJP President Bhabesh Kalita stated on Monday that the party anticipates winning more seats following the visit. He mentioned that Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, and Home Minister Amit Shah are also scheduled to visit Assam in the coming days.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Assam again before the announcement of the Lok Sabha polls. During his visit on February 3, the Prime Minister addressed a mega public rally, inaugurated various schemes worth Rs 11,600 crore, and laid the foundation stone for key projects,” Kalita explained.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of Assam, the state BJP President said, “After the Prime Minister’s visit, we anticipate an increase in our seats. Our target is to win 12 plus seats out of the 14 in Assam. I extend my thanks to the Prime Minister on behalf of the people. In the coming days, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, and Amit Shah will also visit Assam.”

During his visit, PM Modi addressed a gathering in Guwahati, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 11,599 crore. He highlighted the government’s commitment to making the electricity bill of households in the country zero and announced a rooftop solar scheme to assist one crore families initially.

“The double-engine government of the BJP is dedicated to reaching every beneficiary, with a focus on making every citizen’s life comfortable. The budget reflects this commitment, with Rs 11 lakh crore allocated for infrastructure,” PM Modi emphasized.

Key projects inaugurated or initiated by the Prime Minister include the Maa Kamakhya Divya Pariyojana, road upgradation projects under the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) Corridor Connectivity, and sports infrastructure development. Projects for the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital and a medical college at Karimganj were also part of the foundation-laying ceremony.
