Assam’s visionary designer, Sanjukta Dutta, made waves at the Milan Fashion Week with her latest collection ‘Kohua-Komal’, a captivating fusion of tradition and contemporary flair.

Sanjukta’s creations embodies a timeless blend of classical Indian aesthetics with modern sensibilities, paying homage to her homeland’s artisanal heritage.

The presentation was made in presence of noted personalities like consul general of India in Milan, T Ajungla Jamir, secretary general of the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Italy, Luciano Pettoello Mantovani, and special projects manager/India marketing manager of TOD’s Group, Divya Singh, among others.

The design collection was meticulously crafted over 25 days and narrates the tales of tradition woven into every intricate thread.

From the iconic Mekhela Chador to the structured sarees, from flowing gowns to draped skirts and Indo-Western lehengas, Dutta’s collection exudes femininity and grace, enchanting women from all walks of life.

T Ajungla Jamir expressed her admiration, lauding the show’s success and the elegance of the model’s attire. She celebrated Assam’s representation at the prestigious Milan Fashion Week, hailing Dutta’s achievements across global fashion stages.

Sanjukta Dutta, humbled by the acclaim, reflected on the honour of showcasing Assam handloom on a global platform, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to share her labour of love with the world.
