The Assam tennis team, comprising Hakim Ali, Purna Jyoti Phukan, Dhruba Jyoti Hazarika and Diganta Borpatra Gohain, all hailing from Duliajan, showcased an outstanding performance at the 6th National Masters Games – 2024 held in Goa from February 6 to 12, 2024.
In the men’s singles (above 55 years) category, Hakim Ali excelled by clinching double crowns, securing the gold medal in both the singles and doubles categories. He partnered with Purna Jyoti Phukan to claim the gold in the doubles.
Purna Jyoti Phukan also demonstrated remarkable skill, earning a bronze medal in the men’s singles (above 55 years) category.
Dhruba Jyoti Hazarika made his mark by winning a bronze medal in the men’s singles (above 50 years) category. Additionally, in the doubles category of the same age group, partnering with Diganta Borpatra Gohain, he secured another bronze medal.
