Parvej Musaraf after scoring the hundred on February 4| BCCI

In a remarkable achievement, opener Parvej Musaraf has etched his name in Assam cricket history by becoming the third cricketer from the state to score a hundred on debut in the Ranji Trophy. This notable feat places him alongside the late Anwar Hussain of Jorhat and Deep Borah of Guwahati.

Pervej achieved this feat when he scored a hundred against Uttar Pradesh in the ongoing Ranji Trophy match of Elite Group B in Kanpur. Pervej eventually was out for 129 in 295 balls.

Parvej also formed a formidable partnership with Rahul Hazarika (128 in 265 balls), setting a new record for Assam cricket. The duo recorded the highest opening stand for the state, amassing an impressive 274 runs.

This achievement surpasses the previous record of 190 runs held by Zahir Alam and Deepak Das in the 1989/90 season against Tripura.
