Grand celebrations mark Arunachal Pradesh's 38th Statehood Day at Tawang

Deputy commissioner’s office at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh celebrated the 38th Statehood Day with the unfurling of the Tricolour by deputy commissioner Kanki Darang amid a large gathering.

Officers, students, and the public enjoyed cultural programmes and government department exhibitions during the day-long celebrations.

During the occasion, new gaon burahs were appointed for Khirmu Toth and Khirmu Meith villages who received the red uniforms. Also, Pamakhar village’s dynamic gaon burah received a commendation certificate. One senior ALC and an MTS of DC office Tawang were also presented with commendation certificate for their dedicated service.

Deputy commissioner Kanki Darang extended best wishes, highlighting Arunachal Pradesh‘s progress in the last 38 years. The state leads in Kiwi fruit and large cardamom production, excelling in culture, games, and sports. Hydro power and mineral resources are actively explored, the official added.

A transportation vehicle under Mission Organic Value Chain Development NER (Phase-III) was flagged off for Lungla Farmers Producer Company Limited by DC Tawang and DAO Tawang Toli Bam.

Women and child development department won the first prize for their exhibition stall. While Menkhar Self Help Group, showcased millet-based snacks, this SHG won first prize at a national food festival in Kerala recently.

The Young Decors, a group of unemployed youths, handled the decorations under district administration’s initiative, encouraging youth employment. They were supervised by EAC Choiki Dondup and CO Balban Kamlo.
