Altogether 70 lawyers associated with the CPM officially joined the BJP in Agartala, Tripura on February 15. The event, graced by Tripura chief minister Manik Saha and party president Rajib Bhattacharjee, marked a significant shift in political allegiance.

Manik Saha, welcoming the new members with the party’s saffron flag, highlighted the growing trend of intellectuals and commoners abandoning the CPM due to its perceived anti-national stance and resistance to development initiatives. He emphasized the public’s increasing trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, viewing this influx of new members as a testament to the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Expressing confidence in the strengthening of the party’s Legal Cell and organizational structure, Saha emphasized the value of relationships over positions within the BJP. He underscored the principle of equality among individuals, regardless of their professional backgrounds.

Reflecting on Prime Minister Modi’s tenure since assuming office in 2014, Manik Saha commended the transformative impact witnessed across India under his leadership. He credited the Prime Minister for redefining the political landscape and implementing welfare schemes for the benefit of the people.
