“Historic work done under PM Modi’s leadership,” says Uttarakhand CM Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while welcoming the doctors and students who came to the convention in Uttarakhand, said that this organisation which considers Swami Vivekananda as its ideal, is continuously providing its health services in the country in the spirit of ‘Nar Seva Narayan Seva’.
The Chief Minister said, “Under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, historic work has been done in the field of health in India in the last 10 years. At the same time, continuous improvement is going on in various areas of health, these include affordable treatments and medicines, modern health facilities at the rural level, development of human resources and the use of technology to increase access to health services, etc.”

He said that the Central and State Governments are working with the thinking of Antyodaya in health care. More than 200 new medical colleges have been constructed in the country in the last ten years. At present, health services are being provided to people in more than 22 AIIMS. “Also, there has been more awareness in the country regarding Yoga and AYUSH. Attraction towards yoga has increased in the world,” he added.
The Chief Minister elaborated that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Jal Jeevan Mission helped in the prevention of many diseases. Poshan Abhiyaan proved helpful in controlling malnutrition in the country. The national tele-medicine service-e-Sanjeevani has used information and communication technology to enable diagnosis, treatment and management of patients located in remote areas. With their use, even a person living in a remote village can get initial consultation from doctors living in cities. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission has been launched to strengthen the health sector infrastructure which will prove to be a milestone in further strengthening health services.
The Chief Minister said that in the field of health, works are being successfully executed with mutual coordination between the Central and State Governments to provide facilities to the beneficiaries. Atal Ayushman Yojana is proving effective in providing free health care to everyone in the state as well as providing cashless treatment.
“Till now, more than 55 lakh people have been registered as Ayushman card holders. With the help of Atal Ayushman Yojana and Ayushman Card, more than 5 lakh patients have got their treatment done on time. The state government is running many schemes for the safety of mother and child. This scheme is being run under ‘Janani Suraksha Yojana’ for pregnant women to reduce maternal and child mortality. Free vaccination of children is being done under the Indradhanush scheme. Health and Wellness Centers are being operated for free testing and screening of common people for diabetes, anaemia, breast cancer and oral cancer,” he added further.
The Chief Minister said that Jan Arogya Abhiyan is being organised through the Health and Wellness Center to provide health benefits to the common people in their areas. The objective of National Tuberculosis Eradication is to make tuberculosis patients free from the disease, for which a target of 2025 has been set to make India tuberculosis-free. Work is being done on the ground by the state government to achieve this target by the year 2024.
He said, “During the Corona epidemic, India led the entire world under the leadership of the Prime Minister. During the Corona period, free vaccine was given in the country as well as abroad. The person standing at the last mile is getting the benefit of every campaign started by the Prime Minister.”
He said that to achieve the target given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government is continuously working based on “resolution without option”. With everyone’s cooperation, we will be successful in building a healthy, prosperous, strong and self-reliant Uttarakhand
