Mizoram chief minister Lalduhoma

Mizoram chief minister Lalduhoma, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present his maiden state annual budget for 2024–2025 in the state assembly on February 27.

Lalduhoma will also present the supplementary demands for the current financial year along with the budget.

Mizoram governor Hari Babu Kambhampati will deliver his customary gubernatorial address in the state assembly on the first day of the session on February 19.

The state annual budget will be the first to be presented by Lalduhoma after his Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) won the election to the 40-member state legislature held on November 7 last year.

The chief minister is expected to reflect the ZPM’s policy of ‘Kalphung Thar’, or the new system of governance, as well as the economics policy in his first budget, including the ‘Kuta Kaih’ (handholding) policy.

The budget session will conclude on March 13.
