A case has been filed against controversial Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant with the Crime Branch in Guwahati. Allegedly, Rakhi received Rs 5 lakh as an advance to attend the Prag Cine Awards in Jorhat on February 16. However, to the organizer’s dismay, she did not show up for the event.
According to Sanjive Narain, the CMD of AM Televisions Pvt Ltd, Rakhi has allegedly refused to return the money. Narain lodged the complaint in Guwahati on February 23. The FIR states that Narain had handed over Rs 4,96,967.80 via a close associate based in Dubai, as Rakhi was in Dubai at the time of the agreement.
After the payment was made, Rakhi Sawant sent a video to Narain confirming her participation, which was also supposed to be used in the promotion of the event. However, she did not arrive for the programme. When contacted by the organizers, she claimed that she couldn’t come to India because there was an arrest warrant against her, and she would be arrested upon landing in India, alleged Sanjive Narain.
Narain asked her to refund the amount she had received, but she refused, leading Narain to lodge a complaint against the controversial actress.
