Sarbananda Sonowal, union minister of ports, shipping and waterways, and Ayush, participated in the BJP wall painting programme in the Jyotikuchi area of Guwahati on February 11, where he drew the lotus, symbolizing the BJP, alongside enthusiastic party workers and citizens chanting ‘Ek Bar Phir Se Modi Sarkar.’

Addressing the gathering, union minister Sarbananda Sonowal emphasized the transformative leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting the departure from the dark age of ineffective and corrupt governance under the Congress regime. He lauded PM Modi’s vision, attributing it to India’s progression towards becoming one of the world’s top three economies. Sonowal criticized Congress for its hollow promises of poverty alleviation, which failed to materialize due to rampant corruption and inefficiency.

Under PM Modi’s stewardship, Sonowal asserted, India has witnessed the emergence of a corruption-free, efficient, and inclusive government, leading to a surge in national confidence and significant poverty reduction. He underscored the Modi government’s commitment to the welfare of all citizens, contrasting it with the Congress’s focus on serving a single family.

Sonowal credited PM Modi for bringing attention to the neglected Northeast region, initiating development projects, and fostering peace by engaging with insurgents through meaningful dialogue. He remarked that peace and prosperity have flourished wherever the lotus bloomed, contrasting this with the Congress’s historical neglect and exploitation of the region for political gain.

Highlighting PM Modi’s extensive visits to the Northeast, Sarbananda Sonowal contrasted the BJP’s proactive approach to the region with the Congress’s neglect, emphasizing the multitude of initiatives undertaken to promote growth and development. He stressed the rising aspirations of the youth under PM Modi’s leadership, facilitated by initiatives such as Startup India and Digital India, which empower merit over nepotism.

Sonowal expressed confidence in PM Modi’s re-election, buoyed by the overwhelming support from the people, envisioning a resounding victory for the BJP in the upcoming elections. The event also saw the participation of local dignitaries, including Mrigen Sarania, mayor of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), and Smita Roy, deputy mayor, among others.
