Assam Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi

Senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha candidate from Nagaon, Pradyut Bordoloi has accused the Badruddin Ajmal-led All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) of “internally supporting” the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam by splitting votes.

Pradyut Bordoloi said that the AIUDF has fielded a candidate in Nagaon constituency to help the BJP. He alleged that AIUDF leaders are acting as per the instructions of the Assam chief minister.

The Congress MP said that the people of Nagaon are intelligent and understand the hidden agenda of the AIUDF-BJP combine. “The voters know very well what the aim of the AIUDF candidate is. The AIUDF is not contesting the elections to win,” he said.

He added that even if AIUDF wins in a few legislative assembly seats somewhere, they won’t form the government and nor will raise any issue.

He expressed confidence that he would win the election by a significant margin of votes.
