In front of an audience from all across Northeast region, Gaurish Singh from Assam, Martin Irengbam from Manipur, and Krishna Das from Assam were equally bestowed with the winning trophies of 13th Set Wet Mega Mister North East 2024 at the ITA Cultural Complex, Machkhowa on March 1.
There were no runners-up titles in Set Wet Mega Mister North East 2024, and all three winners were awarded equally as winners of the manhunt, with equal prize packages and benefits.
Excitement reached its peak with the announcement of the winner set to represent India at this year’s prestigious Top Model of Universe competition in Turkey. The contestant, who won the once in a lifetime opportunity to represent India on this massive global platform, and was awarded with the title of Mega Mister India – Top Model of Universe is Martin Irengbam from Manipur. Mega Entertainment is gearing up to provide him with a comprehensive series of preparation and training sessions, ensuring that he is primed to shine on the global stage.
Having completed 13 glorious years, Mega Mister North East is the biggest manhunt of northeast India, conceptualized by fashion entrepreneur Abhijeet Singha, produced by Mega Entertainment and marketed by Mega Activation. The auditions for the contest were conducted through auditions in six cities and online entries, and 60 men made it to the lists of finalists.
The pageant has been supported by title sponsor – Set Wet, style partner – Killer Jeans, fashion partner – Butterfly Clothing and Accessories, and hospitality partner – Hotel Daaysco Oley Allo.
The selected contestants were called to Guwahati for a series of grooming and training sessions by Mega Entertainment, photoshoots and other activities, leading up to the grand finale of the contest.
Martin Irengbam is currently a BSc first year student at the Manipur University. His father is in the army and his mother is a homemaker. Speaking regarding winning the opportunity to represent India on a global platform, Martin said: “It is truly an honour to be able to represent my country at the Top Model of Universe pageant. I am thankful to Abhijeet Singha sir, and Mega Entertainment for giving me the opportunity and thinking me capable of his responsibility. I will try my best to make the team, and my entire country proud.”
Krishna Das is a Mass Communication student at the Cotton University in Guwahati. His father is employed in the private sector and his mother works in the All India Radio.
Gaurish Singh is an aspiring actor based in Guwahati, and is currently helping in his father’s business.

Apart from a prize package of Rs. 50,000 each, the three winners will also win an opportunity to become Set Wet brand ambassadors. Additionally, they will win travel opportunities, professional representation from Mega Entertainment, brand engagements, shoots, appearances at youth and fashion events, and public relations and reputation management for the reigning term from the PR Partner of the event – Life’s Purple.
Apart from the main winners, the contestants also competed for a series of subtitles. The title of Set Wet Mister Vibe Setter was awarded to Pougui Golmei from Manipur, Hotel Daaysco Oley Allo Mister Congeniality was awarded to Jayanta Kalita from Assam, Killer Jeans Mister Fashion Icon was awarded to Rohit Khudongbam from Manipur, Butterfly Mister Fashion Icon was awarded to Martin Irengbam from Manipur.
The Top-5 contestants featured apparels by Butterfly Clothing and Accessories, one of the fastest growing brands in Shillong. The contestants who made it to the Top 5 category were – NG Gaurish Singh from Assam, Pougui Golmei from Manipur, Kungjang Dorji Bhutia from Sikkim, Krishna Das from Assam and Martin Irengbam from Manipur.
The judges who sealed the fate of this year’s winner included: fashion & lifestyle promoter Monika Devi, successful and acclaimed hotelier Bobby Singh, former Mega Mister North East Achevei Avei, premium nutrition and fitness consultant Ruchi Bhardwaj Borah, founder and chairman of HSMM Group of Companies Habib Mohammad Choudhury, and celebrity hairstylist and director of Hakim’s Aalim Hair & Beauty Lounge Aalim Hakim.
