One dead in APST bus accident in Longding district of Arunachal

The driver of an Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APST) bus died after the ill-fated bus veered off the road and plunged into a gorge in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh on March 15.

Seven others sustained serious injuries, reports said.

The incident happened near 1st Nala Chango river located between Wakka circle headquarters and Changkhao village, police said.

According to Longding SP Dekio Gumja, the deceased has been identified as the driver of the bus, Y Premananda Singha.

He informed that the injured have been rushed to Dibrugarh for further treatment.

The APST bus with 19 passengers on board was on its way to Kani village from the district HQs when the mishap occurred, the SP said.
