The Supreme Court has dismissed an application filed by State Bank of India (SBI) seeking extension of time till June 30 to submit details of Electoral Bonds to the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The apex court on March 11 asked the SBI to disclose the details by the end of business hours on March 12.

A five-member Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud asked the State Bank of India to submit the required data by the end of business hours on March 12. The court said that if the timeline was not adhered to, the court could issue contempt.

The court also asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to publish the details of the information supplied to the court as per the interim order on its website.
