Barsapara Bapu Ambedkar Colony residents display their certificates | ACA

Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has completed the construction of 25 houses under ‘Ashroi – A Residential Project’ in the Barsapara Bapu Ambedkar Colony, in the adjoining areas of the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. On April 27, these houses were handed over to the residents after a formal inauguration in the presence of the BCCI joint secretary Devajit Saikia, ACA secretary Tridib Konwar and the other ACA apex council members.

The journey, which began with a foundation-laying ceremony on June 1, 2023, has culminated in the realization of a transformative vision for the colony’s residents.

The project is situated on a portion of land allotted by the Assam government.

“With each home standing as a beacon of hope, the colony now offers a safe haven and a promising future to its inhabitants,” said BCCI joint secretary Devajit Saikia.

Beyond construction, ACA has ensured that every household in Barsapara Bapu Ambedkar Colony has access to basic necessities, including running water and electricity, enhancing their quality of life and fostering a sense of pride and belonging.

“The investment in this project, totalling approximately Rs 2.85 crore, underscores ACA’s deep-rooted belief in social equity and inclusivity. This milestone serves as a poignant reminder that sports is not merely about winning matches but also about winning hearts and transforming lives,” said Tridib Konwar.

Expressing gratitude to all contributors, ACA acknowledges the support of the Assam government, the tireless efforts of its team, and the trust bestowed upon them by the residents of Barsapara Bapu Ambedkar Colony.

Konwar further said this achievement stands as a testament to ACA’s unwavering dedication to serving social responsibility and community development, setting a commendable example for sports organizations worldwide.

On the occasion, ACA treasurer Chiranjit Langthasa, ACA joint secretary Rajendra Singh, ACA apex council members Anupam Deka and Minu Alam and former ACA vice president Porikshit Dutta among others were also present.
